Awards and Recognition
In 1986, Gilbert Chagoury was honoured by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for his consistent and continuous philanthropic contributions with the Founder's Award.
In the following year, 1987, Rose-Marie Chagoury was honoured as Woman of the Year by St. Jude's and in 1990, Gilbert Chagoury was named Man of the Year in recognition of their extraordinary contributions made to this world acclaimed children's hospital.
In 1990, acknowledging his merit, the Vatican awarded and bestowed upon Gilbert, the Order of Saint Gregory the Great at the rank of Commander.
In October 1998, Pope John Paul II honoured Gilbert and his family with a private audience.
In May 2000, Gilbert Chagoury was honoured by the French Government and awarded the distinction of Commander at the Order of Arts et des Lettres.
In 2001, in recognition of his services to Benin republic, he was awarded the Ordre National du Bénin with the rank of Commander by the President of the Republic.
In 2005, in recognition of his international representation of the people of Lebanon, he was awarded the distinction of Commander at the Order of the National Cedar by the Lebanese President of the Republic.
In 2005, acknowledging the services rendered to Tchad in particular and Africa in general, the President of the Republic of Tchad honoured Gilbert Chagoury with the Ordre National du Tchad at the rank of Commander.
